We hope you’ll give us a moment to explain how it’s a big win for our economy and for the American people, and then [chip in $25 to the Biden-Harris reelection campaign to ensure we can finish the job of building a better America.]( Passing this budget agreement was critical -- and the stakes could not have been higher. If we had failed to reach an agreement on the budget, America could have defaulted for the first time in our 247-year history. Our economy would’ve been thrown into recession. Retirement accounts for millions of Americans could’ve been decimated. Eight million Americans could have lost their jobs. Instead, we’re: - Protecting the Biden-Harris administration’s key accomplishments. The agreement protects the Inflation Reduction Act, which gives Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices and lowers costs for working families; the CHIPS and Science Act, which is going to bring key parts of our supply chain to America; and the bipartisan PACT Act, the most significant law in decades for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits and for their families. - Rejecting cuts to programs that veterans, seniors, and families count on. From expanding access to health care for veterans and their families to ensuring that Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security were protected, President Biden kept his word that these programs would remain intact. - Cutting spending, putting us on a much more fiscally responsible course than the one President Biden inherited when he took office. Over the next 10 years, the deficit will be cut by more than $1 trillion. And that will be on top of the record $1.7 trillion reduction of the deficit in President Biden’s first two years in office. President Biden is investing in America, in our people, and in our future. But he can’t do it without you.
