# As our nation marks two years since Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan, we wanted to take a moment to report back on the incredible progress that we’ve accomplished together. President Biden and Democrats are rebuilding the middle class, the backbone of America. The American Rescue Plan helped power our economic recovery, resulting in more jobs created in the last two years than under any presidential administration's first four-year term. Take a moment to read about how much of an impact this legislation has had -- and how it has helped build a better America. --------------------------------------------------------------- A HISTORIC ECONOMIC RECOVERY When we last updated you on the progress of the American Rescue Plan, the economy had produced 7.4 million new jobs -- the largest number of jobs created in a single year in American history. Well, two years out, we’re continuing to break records. The economy has created over 12 million jobs in just two years under the leadership of President Biden and Vice President Harris. On top of that, the unemployment rate remains at historic lows and we’ve seen a record 10.5 million new small business applications. As a result, over 13 million Americans saved an average of $800 a year on their health premiums -- leading to the most Americans in history having health insurance. That’s not all. Thanks to the vaccination efforts supported by the American Rescue Plan, today, over 230 million Americans are fully vaccinated, up from 3.5 million when President Biden took office. The American Rescue Plan provided security for more than 200 distressed multiemployer pension plans, helping to ensure 2 to 3 million workers’ pension plans remain solvent and pay full benefits through at least 2051.
