On Monday, President Biden announced that the 150-year-old Baltimore and Potomac Tunnel will be fully replaced and renamed the Frederick Douglass Tunnel. You may be wondering, “What does a tunnel replacement have to do with me?” Well, if you ever find yourself traveling through the Frederick Douglass Tunnel, you’ll be experiencing lower commute times and increased safety and reliability. On top of all of this, 30,000 good-paying jobs will be created through this project. This is real meaningful change -- and it’s happening not just in Baltimore, but in communities nationwide.
