Because of the president’s investments, the power sector now has more tools than ever to reduce pollution and upgrade the grid to support more factories, electric vehicles, and other growing sources of electricity demand. Last week, the Biden-Harris administration announced a new set of energy standards that will cut greenhouse gas emissions as well as toxic air pollution, water pollution, and land contamination from fossil fuel power plants. And President Biden is revitalizing U.S. manufacturing and securing clean energy supply chains -- all to create good-paying jobs, tackle the climate crisis, and advance environmental justice. The Biden-Harris Administration will continue fighting to deliver clean electricity to more homes and businesses, lower energy costs for American families, and power the U.S. clean energy manufacturing boom.]( [PROTECTING CONSUMERS FROM SURPRISE JUNK FEES IN AIR TRAVEL: Building on a historic record of cracking down on corporations who rip off working families, President Biden announced new rules to require airlines to promptly provide passengers with automatic cash refunds when their flights are canceled or significantly changed, their checked bags are significantly delayed, or services that they purchased, like Wi-Fi, are not provided. The Biden-Harris administration is also requiring airlines and ticket agents to tell consumers upfront what fees they charge for checked bags, a carry-on bag, for changing a reservation, or canceling a reservation. These rules will save working families over half a billion dollars every year in airline fees.
