Exercise for longevity, virtual nutrition coaching & a sweet tooth hack Exercise for longevity, virtual nutrition coaching & a sweet tooth hack ͏‌ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ  ͏‌ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ  ͏‌ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ  [JJ Virgin]( Hi ,    Here are my Power Picks of the week! [JJ's Power Pick](   [Study: Pump Iron for Longer Life]( Put down the paperweights—it's time to lift heavy! A recent study in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that weightlifting could help people reduce their risk of early death. Researchers found that people who lifted regularly had a 14% lower risk of death, and those who combined weightlifting with aerobic exercise had a 41-47% lower risk. The study followed almost 100,000 adults (average age 71). There is a lot of evidence showing that muscle strength is vitally important as you age, but this study is one of the first to focus specifically on the benefits of weightlifting for reducing the risk of early death.   [Carbon Nutrition Coaching App]( We could all use an accountability buddy when it comes to our health goals. Carbon lets you set your goals and track your macros. Yes, there are a ton of apps that can do that, but I like that this one adjusts your targets as time goes on. It gets to know your body and makes the appropriate changes as needed (because as your body changes, so do your nutrition needs!). Though the app isn't free ($80/year or $10/month), it's a more affordable alternative to one-on-one coaching.   [Suja Lemon Love]( I’m not a snacker. It’s important for your blood sugar, insulin, and metabolism to give your body enough time to regulate between meals. This is why I recommend eating every 3-4 hours instead of grazing all day. For those in-between times when I'm feeling a little hungry, my fridge is stocked with Suja Lemon Love. For one, lots of fluids between meals keep hunger pangs away. Two, the sour flavor can actually soothe your sweet tooth. It’s naturally sweetened with stevia and has a metabolic kick from cayenne pepper. I’m addicted!   Love, JJ   P.S. It’s almost Mother’s Day, and whether you want to treat yourself to a little luxury or share a gift with someone special, I wholly recommend Pique Tea’s Radiant Skin Duo. It’s a simple daily ritual to nourish your skin with the building blocks it needs to glow: my favorite Sun Goddess Matcha to firm and brighten, with B·T Fountain beauty electrolytes to help boost elasticity. You can get a month’s supply of these beauty beverages to add to your morning routine for 15% off + free shipping [right here](.**   *These statements have not been evaluated by the Food & Drug Administration. That’s why my team and I offer you products and services we believe in. If you happen to purchase something I recommend here, I may receive some kind of compensation. However, I only bring you partners whose content and core values will serve you with the same commitment to excellence my team and I strive for every day. Please be in touch with any concerns.
