Best time to exercise + my favorite coffee booster & neuroscience podcast Best time to exercise + my favorite coffee booster & neuroscience podcast ͏‌ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ  ͏‌ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ  ͏‌ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ Íâ€Œ  [JJ Virgin]( Hi ,    Here are my Power Picks of the week! [JJ's Power Pick]( [Time of Day Determines Postexercise Metabolism in Mouse Adipose Tissue](  People always ask me about the best time to get a workout in. My answer: The best time to exercise is when you're actually going to do it! The second best time, according to this new study, is in the morning. Researchers tested mice after they did no exercise and a lot of exercise at two different times during the day. What they found was that morning exercise made their fat cells better at burning fat and making energy. Another reason not to hit the snooze button!   [Himalayan Tartary Buckwheat Super Nutrition Flour]( If you're looking for a super-nourishing gluten-free flour to swap with, I'm loving this option from Big Bold Health. I learned about it when I had Dr. Jeff Bland on my podcast a few months ago. Himalayan tartary buckwheat is loaded with 100+ immune-supportive nutrients, along with protein, prebiotics, antioxidants, and resistant starch that nourish the gut as well. You can use it to boost baked goods, thicken soups and stews, add it to smoothies, or try it in my [Chocolate Buckwheat Pancakes recipe](.   [Huberman Lab]( For those of you who really like to nerd out on the science of well-being, this is one of my favorite podcasts. The host, Andrew Huberman, Ph.D., is a neuroscientist and tenured professor in the department of neurobiology at Stanford School of Medicine. Each episode dives deep into a practical wellness topic through the lens of neuroscience, with actionable tips on rewiring your brain for optimal health.   Love, JJ   P.S. This week’s Power Spotlight: [Living Ratio’s Cacao Calm](. Adaptogens are a type of herb that can help support your nervous system and regulate your stress response. We could all use some of that these days, couldn't we? Cacao Calm contains ashwagandha, reishi, and cordyceps mushrooms for mood and immune support (plus other benefits) and the magnesium in raw cacao powder also offers some relaxing properties. It blends easily into my morning coffee! Treat yourself in time for Mother’s Day—[use code JJV20 for 20% off](!   *I couldn’t make it without supportive relationships, and I bet you feel the same! That’s why my team and I offer you products and services we believe in. If you happen to purchase something I recommend here, I may receive some kind of compensation. However, I only bring you partners whose content and core values will serve you with the same commitment to excellence my team and I strive for every day. Please be in touch with any concerns.
