Acts 11:9 The People Changer We’re often encouraged to trust our first impressions and go with our gut when it comes to people. And even if we’re willing to form our assessment of others over a long time, it’s difficult to overcome negative behavior at the beginning of a relationship. But our impressions are not always accurate, and even if they are, we have to allow for the possibility that people can change. Or, to be more accurate, to allow for the fact that God changes people. We often form impressions of people and judge them. Sometimes if our opinion is negative, we dismiss them and don’t treat them kindly and compassionately. We think a leopard can’t change his spots. Which may be true, unless he’s washed by the blood of the Lamb. People can change through the power of God’s love and the grace of Christ. We have to accept them and treat them the same way we want them to accept and treat us, knowing that we’re not who we used to be. Pray: “Lord, I’m so glad you didn’t leave me the way you found me. Thank you for transforming me through the power of your Holy Spirit.” You can grow closer to God with my full Jesus Daily® Devotional Book at [Amazon.com]( or fine bookstores everywhere.
