Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. Psalm 55:16-17 Stop and Pray During the course of a busy day, we may not have time for lunch or a trip to the bathroom, let alone a prayer time with God. However, once we wind down and the busyness stops, we begin to worry all over again. We anticipate resuming the hectic pace the following day, knowing we must gear up for what’s ahead. This kind of worry creates constant anxiety, which makes it hard to rest and recuperate when we have downtime. Especially when we lie awake in the middle of the night, we play out all kinds of scenarios and fret about what might, could, or should happen. This is when we must cry out to our Father. And maybe the answer is not waiting until we’re sleepless and anxious, but somehow finding a way to slow down and pray to God throughout the day, not just when we can’t shut our minds down. Just a few seconds of crying out to our Abba Father every hour or so can make an enormous difference in our lives. When we remember he’s in control, we can take a deep breath and relax. Pray: “Dear God, I turn over my cares and worries to you. You are more than capable of empowering me to get through any problem I face today.” You can grow closer to God with my full Jesus Daily® Devotional Book at [Amazon.com]( or fine bookstores everywhere.
