Follow me on Facebook at [facebook.com/draarontabor]( — Aaron Tabor, MD, Founder of Jesus Daily® YOUR DAILY DEVOTION FROM DR TABOR He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:3 Study His Names In virtually every culture throughout history, names carry enormous significance. Often they embody a family’s story from generation to generation. Sometimes they identify the lineage and legacy of the individuals who share a common name. Names also reveal personal attributes and character traits, which may in turn reflect different kinds of businesses or professions. Throughout the Old Testament, we find dozens of different names for God: Jehovah, the Great I AM, the Lord Almighty, Immanuel, El Shaddai, and many more. Each one expresses a different facet of God’s glorious character—his mercy, his generosity, his protection, his patience, his omniscience, his sovereignty. If you want to get to know God at a deeper, more intimate level, studying his names can be a wonderful facilitator. Pray: “Lord, I know that there’s so much about you I still don’t know and may never know in this life. But I love you and want to know all your names. I praise you!” You can grow closer to God with my full Jesus Daily® Devotional Book at [Amazon.com]( or fine bookstores everywhere.
