We wake up in the morning, and without a specific agenda for the day, we know that if we don’t move in some specific direction we will waste our day. Or, we have so much to do in one day that we cannot possibly get it all done. On a much larger scope, we have big decisions to make and we don’t know the best way to go, or we have sudden disastrous circumstances and we can’t see beyond this moment. It is not unusual at all to find ourselves on a road with no map guiding the way. Perhaps you’ve heard the saying, “Do the next right thing.” Though this is easier said than done, it seems to bring the next step down to the present moment. It reminds us that we are on a path that leads somewhere and our present decisions affect where we end up. Today, you need to do something but you don’t have to do everything.
