Psalm 119:165 Great Peace When you’re anxious and upset, your body reacts accordingly. If you’re trying to run away from a perceived threat or imminent danger, you may literally lose your balance from fear, anxiety, and panic. Your heart will race and your breathing will become shallow and irregular. Adrenaline will course through your body as it prepares a “fight or flight” response to the threat before you. When we know the peace of the Lord, however, our entire being experiences the calm tranquility of knowing our security is in him. Our body relaxes, we sleep better, and we aren’t ruffled by the temporary storm clouds that appear on the horizon. If we follow Jesus and obey God’s commands, our feet will remain steadfast and sure. We will not stumble or fall victim to the many worries, fears, and anxieties that try to plague us. Our peace is certain.
