Psalm 108:4 Higher Than the Heavens How high above the earth have you been? If you’ve flown in a plane, you’ve probably been at least 30,000 feet above our planet. If you’re one of the few people involved in space travel and exploration, you may have seen earth’s surface from an even greater distance, one that the rest of us only see in photos and films. Whether you’ve never flown or you’re an accomplished astronaut, we can never know the limits of God’s love. We’re told they’re “higher than the heavens,” which appropriately seems like an infinite distance. We can’t measure or quantify God’s love because it’s so immense, intense, and urgent. He gave everything in order to win us back. He allowed his only precious Son to live as a man and die on a cross in order to pay for our sins. God’s love is the only reason we, in turn, are able to love him. Pray: “Lord, your love for me is bigger, wider, and deeper than anything I can imagine on earth or above it.
