Whether in the workplace or the schoolyard, we often hear of the way people attack one another and then create an ongoing conflict in their words and actions. It happens in lines at fast-food counters, across tables in boardrooms, and in shopper-frantic parking lots. All the more reason that we as followers of Jesus are called to treat others with patience, kindness, and compassion. While many people become more intent on getting what they want at any price, we must demonstrate a different set of priorities that have nothing to do with getting ahead, and everything to do with what we leave behind. An act of kindness is a good start, but an attitude of kindness influences everything we think, say, and do. Pray: “Dear God, I get so impatient and frustrated with other people sometimes.
