[ ](#) {NAME}, Today is the 20th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in American history. The events of September 11th, 2001, impacted the trajectory of history, but the personal tragedies of so many New Yorkers are what weigh the heaviest on my mind. In 2010, I was a lead sponsor for the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, designed to provide support for the heroes who saved lives and helped clean up the wreckage. James Zadroga was a police officer who lost his life in 2006 from respiratory illness caused by his exposure to toxic chemicals at ground zero. The World Trade Center Health Program created by my bill provides medical treatment and health services to over 100,000 heroes who risked so much. Sadly, Congress has not fully funded this program, and it’s facing budget shortfalls that threaten the care of first responders. That’s why I’ve joined with my colleagues to introduce the 9/11 Responder and Survivor Health Funding Correction Act — legislation designed to close the budget gap and ensure heroes of 9/11 get the care we owe them. Given all that they sacrificed for our country, I am fighting for these heroes and victims with every ounce of my being. Thousands of sick and injured 9/11 responders and survivors and their families are depending on this money to help them make ends meet while they deal with the severe health issues caused by exposure to World Trade Center toxins. The sacrifices made on that horrible day and in its aftermath can never be fully appreciated. As Americans, we have a duty to support and care for them. They can never be forgotten. Thank you for standing up for those who stood up for us. Jerry PAID FOR BY NADLER FOR CONGRESS, INC. — LEWIS WEISSMAN, TREASURER Click here to [unsubscribe]( from Jerry Nadler's email list.
