Fact: Most people have no idea that there’s a hole smack dab in the middle of their content strategy. [image] And that’s because a LOT of content we’re creating and sharing for the business we love is getting posted and shared solely on social media sites. You know, the places where the people are! Browsing and clicking and—well, *maybe* seeing the post if you’re lucky. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Instagram! It’s still strategic and the community aspect is pretty dang incredible, but there’s something missing. So much of my life is creation. Writing, designing, organizing. Same goes for a LOT of business creatives—when you put your best work out into that social feed, you’re crossing your fingers that people get a chance to see your hard work. And it’s a major win when they do! That feels so validating. But what about 2 weeks from now? Sure, social media wants you to gain traction, but what about letting that little piece of art live for even longer? That’s what I see when I open my Pinterest home page. Little works of art. Quotes and images and editorial masterpieces that people knew belonged somewhere else. Beyond cataloging a vast sea of inspiration (literally always finding new pasta I want to eat) and even pointing us to the trends happening across the internet so we can keep UP, it’s a database of hard work! That’s why I create and publish pins for everything we create. The IG posts that become blogs. The podcast episodes that I want people to be able to find when they go looking for them long after they’ve been released.The emails, like this one, that become inbox conversations that become live trainings. Pinterest is giving life to what you create long after that initial post. Long after the expiration date that social media feeds try to slap on your work. I’m here waving my Pinterest flag, bringing in [~3.5 million views a month]() to what would have previously had a single day in the spotlight on an IG feed. Pinterest fills in the final gap in the strategy. And so many people miss this step, letting their words and graphics and beautiful photos slip into the abyss of the internet.
