I walked outside earlier this week and was surprised with a warm gust of wind, sunshine on my shoulders, and dangit John Denver, you were right! It DID make me happy. So, I took a quick break, sat in a little chair in the sunshine, looked out at Lake Superior and rolled up my pants to become shorts. Then my sleeves. Then I busted out the belly for a little bit of vitamin D. And for a fleeting second, taking in all of the wintery hues of my skin and the hairs on my legs sparkling in the light…. thought, “Um, yikes.” Okay, let me stop ya right there, Jenna. Hold that thought. No, like grab it tight, because we’re gonna walk over to the trash and just chuck it right in, k? I’ll be honest, my showers these days happen with a toddler in tow and I definitely miss a spot (or ten) when trying to shave while simultaneously singing “Baby Beluga.” I mean, shaving your whole legs feels like a hot yoga session that requires a ten minute savasana after you’re done. Regardless, I was faced with the option to dwell or course correct my brainwave. My thoughts for you today are simple. They’re simple, uncomfortable, and powerful. Your body deserves sunshine. And enjoyment. And play! And fun. Adventure. Whatever your body can do and whatever YOU want to do—you should! No matter what shape or texture you’ve got going on! A “summer body” is the same thing as a winter body. It’s a body. It’s YOU and it’s alive! Put on the swimsuit or don’t. Cut those jeans into jorts or don’t! Let your arms flap in the breeze or don’t! Show up as who you are. I for one am tired of hiding myself or feeling like I need to shield others’ eyes from having to see who I am and what I look like. I like this body. It’s really freaking cool. It does things for me that I really like. And so I shall return the love it gives me with swimming, walks, clothes that let the sunshine in, ones that let me breathe and play. But we all have those moments where the bad thoughts come. The negative thoughts just spring up like weeds sometimes. Don’t waste time watering them and multiplying them, but also don’t waste a dang second getting mad at yourself for having them in the first place! That’s what a weed does. Pull it out, or just walk on. Step back INTO the gloriousness of enjoying the body you have! And, of course, throw on some sunscreen. :) From my body to yours, JK [Unsubscribe]( Jenna Kutcher 340 S Lemon Ave #4227 Walnut, California 91789 United States
