Bigger Venues, Great Talent, & More Events For this year's 6th annual Napa Valley Jazz Getaway, Bria

[JAZZRADIO.com - Have you heard the news?] The 2017 NVJG Was Better Than Ever! [NVJG]( Bigger Venues, Great Talent, & More Events For this year's 6th annual Napa Valley Jazz Getaway, Brian Culbertson and his team made the event bigger and better than ever! In addition to an all-star lineup that included Marcus Miller, Candy Dulfer, The Whispers, Peter White, Keiko Matsui, Euge Groove, Peabo Bryson and SO many more, a bright new venue was used for Saturday and Sunday's large events. The brand new Oxbow Commons park is tucked just between downtown Napa and the main event hotel, the Westin Napa Verasa. This beautiful, grassy area is hemmed in by the Napa River, and is only a short walk from the hotel, the Blue Note Jazz Club, and many of the downtown hotels, shops, tasting rooms, and restaurants. We (and the rest of Brian's fans) loved it! Guests at the JAZZRADIO.com Wine Down events enjoyed complimentary wine tasting by many of Napa's top wineries and reconnected with friends from past Getaways. Artists at the two wine downs included Paul Jackson Jr., Marqueal Jordan, and Adam Hawley on the first day, and saxophonist Eric Marienthal and vocalist Lindsey Webster the nest, along with event DJ's Rick & Russ feat. CJ Flash. We had a blast, and already can't wait for what Brian has in store for next year! 7th Annual Coltrane Jazz & Blues Festival [Coltrane]( Labor Day Weekend, 2017 The 7th Annual John Coltrane Jazz & Blues Festival in High Point, NC will be the must-see show of Grammy Award winning talent on Labor Day Weekend September 2nd & 3rd. “This is going to be the kind of show people will talk about before and after the experience,” says Joe Williams of JCW Entertainment, who brought in a boatload of outstanding performers to this event which honors the memory of the legendary John Coltrane. On Saturday, popular multi-Grammy nominated saxophonist Gerald Albright returns to the festival with singer/guitarist Jonathan Butler. Ten-time Grammy award winning legend, Eddie Palmeri brings Latin Jazz to the stage, and then two exciting new artists include young wonderkid pianist Mathew Whitaker, and the unique steel guitarist, Robert Randolph. Headlining Sunday’s performances are Special EFX led by legendary guitarist Chieli Minucci along with 7-time Grammy nominated saxophonist Eric Marienthal, renowned bassist Gerald Veasley, rhythm innovator Lao Tizer, and “American Idol” finalist vocalist Elliott Yasmin. More great music will come from contemporary jazz icon, Spyro Gyra. Next, three-time Grammy Award winner and Master Jazz saxophonist, Brandford Marsalis performs with jazz pianist, Joe Calderazzo. And newcomer, singer Alexis Morrast rounds out the marquee of an outstanding holiday music weekend. If you’re in the North Carolina area, we hope to see you at Oak Hollow Festival Park in High Point North Carolina this Labor Day weekend!
