Dilution is when a company announces a share offering that essentially increases the size of the available trading shares (i.e., the float). I always check the dilution risk and assign it a score of low, medium, or high. Why do I do this? Because most if not all of these breakouts are not profitable. If the company has no cash left, it's an opportune time for them to dilute, which drops the stock very fast and pops the momentum. If the dilution risk is high, I don't hold them overnight.
