Folks, Republican Congressman Madison Cawthorn is unfit for office. In a leaked email, he revealed that he “built [his Congressional] staff around comms rather than legislation.” He’s more interested in getting his name in the news than legislating on behalf of his constituents. And his name has been in the news -- for all the wrong reasons. Cawthorn traveled across the world to visit one of Hitler’s homes, and then paid homage to the trip on his Instagram, saying that visiting Hitler’s compound had been on his bucket list for a long time, and “it did not disappoint.” Madison Cawthorn represents everything that is wrong with the Republican party. Multiple women have accused him of sexual harassment, he’s lied about his resume, stoked division and flirted with Nazis. He should not be in Congress. TIME Magazine reports Cawthorn is rising to power by offering “Trumpism in a post-Trump world.” If we want to reclaim our country from Trump’s toxic -- and dangerous -- grip, we need to defeat Madison Cawthorn here in Western North Carolina.
