  # {NAME}, Across Oregon, educators are walking picket lines and holding rallies as part of their contract negotiation processes. I was proud to join them earlier this month on the picket lines and was reminded of why I so admire those who dedicate themselves to preparing students for the future, including those in support roles — from bus drivers to janitors to administrative staff. As the daughter of a teacher, and as the proud product of Oregon public schools, I am grateful for all that teachers have done for me and for our communities. It's now our turn to stand with them and demand they get the support they need at the local and federal levels. In Congress, I will make investing in public education a priority and continue to be an advocate for our public schools and the students, teachers, and support staff who are instrumental in making our schools function. I encourage all voters to ask anyone running for office at the local, state, or federal level: What is your commitment to investing in public education and supporting all those doing this critical work? [If you’re ready for a congresswoman who stands with our students, educators, and schools, I hope you’ll make an investment in our campaign by chipping in today.]( I wrote more about this in an Op-Ed in the Bend Bulletin.
