If you play volleyball in highschool in the US, then you know the name Michael Kane. Who?! Ok, so chances are…you are not a highschool volleyball athlete at the minute. But don’t go just yet, {NAME}! So let’s just say Michael Kane is kind of a big deal in the world of highschool volleyball (for one, he was Jen’s coach during her volleyball state championships days). But apart from his cameo in Jen's life, he’s built a 23-career on coaching winning teams to success. More exactly, to 6 State Championship titles, over 800 wins, to qualifying 9 times for the Junior Olympic Championships, etc. etc. etc. You get the picture. He’s one of those coaches. The kind whose influence changes an athlete’s life. [( Now, I know what you’re thinking… James, I’m about to head into a big launch. I could really do with some last minute tips. Ahem…why should I listen to a highschool volleyball coach? AHAAA! See, this is where you’re wrong, {NAME}. Because online business and volleyball are really not that different. In both, you need a team (even if you’re a team of one right now). You also need a coach/CEO, call it what you will, you need a person who can LEAD a team to success. You need to get good at recruiting, onboarding, motivating teams, and turning regular highschoolers into highly disciplined, intrinsically-motivated athletes. Regular team members into stellar performers. Seriously, someone with Coach Kane’s skills would be highly sought in any leadership circles. But his loyalty lies deeply with his volleyball team. He did agree to share his insights into motivating people to achieve their best level of performance, and raise the bar for themselves and for the team. The golden nuggets were dropping all over the place in this interview. Watch out for them as you hear us talk about: - How to spot the essence of leadership in people when you’re recruiting for your team - Coach Kane’s thoughts on discipline and how he has shifted his approach in the past few years - How a culture of embracing mistakes is key to growth in volleyball (guess where else that’s true 🙂) - How to facilitate an environment that allows people to reach limits they didn't know they were capable of reaching  - How to build a company and team culture from scratch in today’s world - How to cultivate a culture of feedback and growth in coaching volleyball, and in business - How to develop a two-way trust and fuel performance in your team. This interview is [Part 2 of our Leadership Series]( where we talk to extraordinary leaders in various fields (not always online business) and distill their knowledge into golden nuggets for the Digital-CEO-Leader. Because guess what, {NAME}? If you want to build an unstoppable team (and business), you need to be a great leader first. [LISTEN HERE]( Enjoy! -James PS: I’m dead serious about leadership and the impact it has on your business. So serious in fact, that I’m organizing a LIVE event – [Indispensable Leadership]( on 29-31 March. Yes, there is a discount for listeners for the podcast (listen to the end). And yes, you can bring your own team to it too. Word around our Mastermind (the only ones who got to experience this kind of event before) is that it's truly game-changing. Indispensable even. I hope to see your name on the door list before we SELL OUT all our seats...
