Creative writing just won’t cut it, when it comes to selling your stuff.  Hey {NAME}, OK Iâ?

Creative writing just won’t cut it, when it comes to selling your stuff.  Hey {NAME}, OK I’m just going to say it → Creative copy is crap. I see so many struggling entrepreneurs falling into this trap ... (And I totally get it – we’re taught from freakin first grade how important it is to make our writing sound "smart"!) ... but the truth is, when it comes to selling your stuff and building a profitable business, creative writing full of pretty fluff is just NOT going to cut it. Because it doesn’t tell your reader WHY they should buy. Instead, your copy needs to present an airtight argument for your program or service that leaves your reader in no doubt that yours is the best, right and ONLY solution to their struggle. Think of it this way. Imagine you’re an attorney in court, presenting your case to the jury. If you jump in there with a whole heap of confusing descriptions and unjustified statements – and zero structure to what you’re saying ... do you think the jury is going to be convinced? No way, right? But if you present your argument in such a crisp, clean, logical way that your audience literally CANNOT disagree with you … you’ll have them nodding along to every word. And it’s exactly the same with your copy. When your argument convinces your audience beyond any doubt that YOU have the obvious and only answer to their problem ... YOUR solution is THE ONE they buy. This "Pro Copy Tip" was just part of the coaching gold we dug into on our [Hot Seat Highlight]( this month with amazing BBD student Amanda Schaefer ... OK pause! In case you’re new in these parts, and thinking, "Umm, what the heck is a Hot Seat Highlight?", here’s the scoop. Each month inside our Business By Design program, we have Hot Seat coaching sessions, where members ask about a struggle in their business. We coach them through it – and everyone on the call learns a TON! It’s a total win-win-win! Cool? OK, back to the action … Amanda was worried to see that her EPL (earnings per lead) for her latest launch was dragged down by increased facebook ad costs – which meant less profit. So she wanted ideas for how to deal with this. Click below to check out our Hot Seat right now – and you’ll not only hear how to write airtight copy that makes you more money, but also how I coached Amanda through a bunch of other cool ways to boost her profits (that YOU can try in your biz right now!).  [April Hot Seat Highlight Video]( Listening on the go? The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
