know for Friday, October 27, 2023 Alleged child killer seeks bail The [attorney representing accused child killer, Kayodi Satchell]( is expected to make a bail application on her behalf when she appears today in the Home Circuit Court. Satchell is charged with the brutal murder of eight-year-old schoolgirl Danielle Rowe in June. Danielle, a student of the Braeton Primary and Infant School in Portmore, St Catherine, was abducted after school on June 8 and taken to Roosevelt Avenue in St Andrew where her throat was slashed. Her killing was met with public outcry both at home and in the diaspora. Rastafarian held with 2 lbs of ganja returns to court for trial The Rastafarian man, Charles âRas Negusâ Largie, who has been on trial since April after being found with two pounds of ganja at his place of business, is set to return to court today when the matter is expected to proceed. When Largie appeared in court in April, members of the Rastafarian community staged a silent protest outside the St James Parish Court. They were upset that Largie is being prosecuted at a time when Rastafarians should be free to use ganja as part of their sacraments. This, they argued is in keeping with previous talks with the Government about the 2015 amendment of the Dangerous Drugs Act. Inside the Parliament The Senate will meet at 10:00 this morning at Gordon House when the 2023/24 State of the Nation Debate will continue. Todayâs scheduled speakers are Government Senator Sherene Golding Campbell and Opposition Senator Janice Allen. The Senate will also take the Public Procurement (Registration and Classification of Suppliers) (Amendment) Regulations, 2023, Resolution.
