Morning Bites: 5 things to know for Wednesday, August 30, 2023 Study to support Jamaica’s women entrepreneurs Research will commence today for a [Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) study]( to identify some of the inhibitors to increasing the number of women engaged in robust, sustainable entrepreneurship. Sponsored by the Boosting Innovation, Growth and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (BIGEE) programme, the research will be undertaken by USA-based A2F Consulting. The study should provide an overview of Jamaica's entrepreneurial and early-stage business landscape with a view to identify "actionable interventions" the DBJ can implement to support the participation of women in entrepreneurship. More than 18,000 teachers receive laptop vouchers The Ministry of Education and Youth is reporting that [83 per cent or 18,263 teachers have received vouchers to purchase laptops](. Education Minister Fayval Williams said that to date, 16,530 vouchers have been redeemed. The e-vouchers enable teachers to visit an approved vendor location to purchase a laptop that meets minimum specifications.
