Morning Bites: 5 things to know for Friday, August 25, 2023 JPS customers to see 1.6% average rate increase Jamaica Public Service Company Limited (JPS) customers will see an [average 1.6 per cent increase in their electricity bills]( following the Office of Utilities Regulation’s (OUR's) review of the 2023 JPS Annual Tariff Adjustment submission. The OUR’s decisions became effective on August 9, 2023 and will be reflected in bills received for consumption following that date. Shericka Jackson looks to defend world 200m title Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson will today seek to successfully defend her 200m title at the [World Athletics Championships]( in Budapest, Hungary.
