Statin to release Consumer Price Index for March The Statistical Institute of Jamaica (Statin) will today release its [Consumer Price Index (CPI)]( for March. The CPI measures changes in the general level of prices for consumer goods and services purchased by private households. The All-Jamaica Consumer Price Index increased by 0.5 per cent for the month of February, mainly influenced by a 2.7 per cent increase in the index for the division âHousing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels.â The point-to-point [inflation rate]( as of February 2023 was 7.8 per cent. JPS to fund two Labour Day projects The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) will be sponsoring two âinnovativeâ Labour Day projects as part of its 100th anniversary celebrations to the tune of $600,000 each. JPS said the public will get to vote on which two projects âwill win our full support and $600,000 in fundingâ. Proposals should be submitted by April 24, 2023 via email to jpsfoundationlabour day2023@jps.com. Among other things, proposals must align with the JPS Foundationâs focus on environment or education.
