Morning Bites: 5 things to know for Friday, March 31, 2023 Bail hearing continues for UWI’s Matthew Hyde Matthew Hyde, the 20-year-old student accused of [torturing his ex-girlfriend in his dorm room on the Mona campus]( of The University of the West Indies (UWI), will return to the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court today for the continuation of his bail hearing. When he last appeared in court on Monday, his attorney, Peter Champagnie, KC, proposed that Hyde be housed at a private institution that treats with persons dealing with mental health issues, if he is offered bail. Hyde is accused of holding his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend captive for three days in his room during which time he repeatedly beat and burned her with a clothes iron all over her body after reportedly accusing her of infidelity. Parking fees up at Norman Manley International Airport Persons visiting the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston will be [paying more to park as of this Saturday, April 1](. NMIA operator PAC Kingston Airport Limited has announced a 66 per cent rate increase in parking fees across the board. The rate to park for up to an hour will be increased from $150 to $250, while parking for up to two hours will cost $500, up from $300.
