When he last appeared in court on Monday, his attorney, Peter Champagnie, KC, proposed that Hyde be housed at a private institution that treats with persons dealing with mental health issues, if he is offered bail. Hyde is accused of holding his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend captive for three days in his room during which time he repeatedly beat and burned her with a clothes iron all over her body after reportedly accusing her of infidelity.
