Morning Bites: 5 things to know for Thursday, January 19, 2023 Curfew in Denham Town A curfew that was [imposed in sections of the Kingston Western Police Division]( on Sunday has been extended, according to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). In a statement on Wednesday evening, the JCF noted that the curfew extension will run from 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 18, to 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 21. The boundaries of the curfew include Race Course Lane (Blount Street), from the intersection of Little King Street travelling to the fence line forming of the Golden Heights Housing Development; and the northern and eastern sections of Race Course Lane, travelling south along the paved gully and continuing to the intersection of Williams Street and Upper Rose Lane. Additionally, the curfew includes Rose Lane, from the intersection of William Street, continuing south along Rose Lane to the intersection of Beeston Street and Rose Lane, continuing west along Beeston Street to the intersection of Spanish Town Road and southwest along Spanish Town Road to Little King Street, and along Little King Street from Spanish Town Road to the intersection of Race Course Lane (Blount Street). The curfew excludes the Denham Town High School and Denham Town Police Station. The police are reminding the public that during the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries of the curfew are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised in writing by the ground commander. Gasoline, diesel prices up $4.50 Motorists will [see an increase at the pumps]( in the price of gasoline effective today, according to the latest ex-refinery costs from Petrojam. With both grades of gasoline up by $4.50, 87-octane gasoline will be sold for $163.41 per litre while 90-octane gasoline will be sold for $167.39 per litre. Automotive diesel fuel will be sold for $208.84 per litre after an increase of $4.50 and ultra-low sulphur diesel will be sold for $216.76 per litre, up by $4.50. Kerosene also increased in price by $4.50 and will be sold for $214.54 per litre. Propane liquid petroleum will be sold for $65.05 per litre, up by $3.06 and butane liquid petroleum will be sold for $73.14 per litre after an increase of $3.06. Marketing companies and retailers will add their respective mark-up to these prices. Antigua and Barbuda elections results Results from Wednesday’s [general elections in Antigua and Barbuda]( will continue pouring in today, with the ruling Antigua and Barbuda Party (ABLP) having won three of the four seats declared so far for the 17-seat Parliament. Prime Minister Gaston Browne comfortably won his St John’s City West seat polling 1,295 votes as against 621 for Alister Thomas of the United Progressive Party (UPP) and Jamel Knight of the Democratic National Alliance (DNA). However, the leader of the main opposition UPP, Harold Lovell, failed to win the City East seat for a third consecutive time as Information Minister Melford Nicholas held on to win by six votes in Wednesday’s general election. In the last general election, the ABLP won 15 of the 17 seats. The wanted man has been identified as Conron Johnson, otherwise called 'Con' or 'Chroma', who the police have described as armed and dangerous. They say Johnson is wanted in connection to the death of 28-year-old Clayton Turner who was killed around 4:30 am. Anyone knowing Johnson’s whereabouts is being asked to call the Spanish Town police at 876-984-2305, Crime Stop at 311, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
