But we must also acknowledge that there is still work to be done to ensure that LGBTQ+ Americans are fully protected under the law. This was a monumental ruling, but still 7 years later there is progress to be made. In the time since, we’ve continued to see Republicans across the country unleash a wave of attacks against the LGBTQ+ community. And with Washington Republicans making it clear they will stop at nothing to undermine our most basic freedoms, it’s critical that Congress take action to protect every American at the federal level.
