With the final draft of the map released, I am reaching out to share that I will continue running in my home community in the newly drawn New York Second Congressional District. Our race will be one of the most competitive in the entire country, and a likely tipping point for deciding who controls the House of Representatives. [{NAME}, there is far too much at stake to sit on the sidelines this November, and I’m going to need your support every step of the way. Will you help us kick off our race for the new NY-02 in the strongest position possible by making a contribution today?]( [FLIP NY-02 BLUE »]( Thank you for your continued support. Take care and walk good, Jackie On Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 3:47 PM, Jackie Gordon said: {NAME}, This week, the court-appointed special master released the first draft of a map that would establish New York’s congressional districts for the 2022 cycle. The New York redistricting process has been long, and the special master’s process was unfair to voters in diverse communities across the state. That’s why I want to take a moment to explain what this process has looked like and where our campaign stands if this map holds. [But first, one thing is clear: Our race is still going to be one of the most competitive in the entire country, and the fate of the House majority could be decided by what happens here on Long Island. Will you help us continue building on our momentum to win this race by chipping in today?]( [Donate Now »]( After the first round of redistricting, I continued to run where I live, in a district that included my home community and extended east on Long Island. After a judge ordered for lines to be redrawn, voters in communities like mine were given one hearing hundreds of miles away to advocate for their needs. It was not fair, especially to voters of color whose voices were silenced throughout the entire process, but this is what happened and now here is where we stand: If the special master’s new map is approved, we will once again see our community shift into another district. {NAME}, I want to be clear – I will continue my campaign in the place that I live to represent the community I call home. Long Island families deserve a representative who will fight tooth and nail for them, and I’m committed to be that leader in Washington. The redistricting process has not been easy or fair to the voters, and it has presented new challenges to our campaign. If this map holds, we will once again be tasked with talking to new voters in new areas of our district. [Our race remains a tipping point for who controls the House of Representatives. With just six months until Election Day, we need to be prepared to make adjustments to reach voters, educate them on their district, and invest in the key strategies we need to win. Will you help us continue building our campaign operation by chipping in $5, $25, or whatever you can spare today?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Express Donate $5 »]( [Express Donate $25 »]( [Express Donate $50 »]( [Express Donate $100 »]( [Custom Donation »]( Take care and walk good, Jackie Jackie Gordon is a veteran running for Congress in New York's 2nd District.
