‌so I wanted to write you a note ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ {NAME} – On Sunday evenings, I like to reset. I review our campaign schedule for the week, read through the memos my team sends me, look over fundraising reports, and if I have a moment, try to squeeze in some yoga. I have about 15 extra minutes today, so I wanted to write you a note about what’s at stake in this election and why I am going to fight tooth-and-nail to represent this community in Congress. The truth is that, as a Black female veteran, I’m used to being in rooms with people who don’t look or think like me. I’ve always been a little bit different, but that’s why I’m in this race. We need leaders who are a little bit different – who understand the struggles people on Long Island are going through, because they’ve actually lived them. Now, as I watch the GOP wage an attack on some of our most basic rights, I think about the oath I swore to defend the Constitution and protect our freedoms. And I am more committed than ever to winning this race and fighting on behalf of Long Island families in Congress. But this is a fight I can’t win without you, so I need us to come together to defend our democracy and protect our most basic rights, because in this election, everything is at stake. [{NAME}, I have to ask: Will you stand with me in this fight by chipping in $5, $25, or whatever you can spare before our mid-quarter fundraising deadline at midnight tonight?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Express Donate $5 »]( [Express Donate $25 »]( [Express Donate $50 »]( [Express Donate $100 »]( [Custom Donation »]( Take care and walk good, Jackie Jackie Gordon is a veteran running for Congress in New York's 1st District.
