I’ll be honest: This is a scary moment for all of us, but we can’t back down now. It’s more important than ever that we’re electing leaders who will codify reproductive rights into law and ensure protections at the federal level. [I’m proud to have the endorsements of leading groups like EMILY’s List and NARAL because they know that in Congress, I will always fight to protect the right to choose, but I need your help to get there. Will you rush $5 or more to help us flip NY-01 blue, hold the House majority, and protect reproductive freedom?]( [Donate $5 »]( [Donate More »]( Thank you for your support, Jackie Gordon On Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11:30 AM, Jackie Gordon wrote: {NAME}, Last night, a leaked draft opinion from the Supreme Court shook the entire country as we found out the highest court in the land is planning to overturn Roe v. Wade – the landmark case that protects the right to choose. It’s important to note that this is not the final decision, and as of now abortion remains legal. But with the Court poised to strike down abortion access as unconstitutional, 26 states across the country will move to swiftly enact egregious abortion bans – and we can be certain more are on the way. Let me be clear: We are headed down a dangerous path in which the fundamental choices made between a person and their doctor may be criminalized – a path in which access to reproductive healthcare may be stripped away altogether. Congress must act now by codifying reproductive rights into law and ensuring protections at the federal level. {NAME}, I know this is a moment we have feared for so long, but we cannot lose the will or energy to fight back now – in fact, we need to fight more than ever. [In Congress, I will be a vote to codify Roe v.
