People who are happiest in their careers have focused on 4 specific pillars. Can't view this email properly? [View in Browser]() {NAME}, Between my book tours, speaking events, and meet-ups, I’ve met hundreds of thousands of readers over the last decade. Ramit with IWT Readers I love meeting IWT readers! I’m absolutely blown away by you guys. You work as executives, screenwriters, engineers, medical professionals, and so much more! However, I often get into deep conversations with people and learn that something just doesn’t sit right with them. They have a great career on paper, but deep down inside…something feels missing. The 4 Pillars of a RICH Career Most of my readers have done everything they thought they were supposed to do for their career. They went to school, worked hard, and paid their dues. And it shows in the jobs and titles they have! But all that isn’t enough to create a fulfilling career. I’ve found the people who are happiest in their careers have focused on 4 specific pillars. They have what I call a RICH Career. A Rich Career Most people have one or even two of these pillars if they’re lucky. But you need all four to truly be happy in what you do everyday. The right relationships can change the trajectory of your career Think about it. Amazing relationships with people in your industry go a long way towards gaining insider knowledge about your career path — not to mention unadvertised job opportunities. Networking can get a bad rap. But today, it’s a crucial skill for building your career. (In a free live class earlier this week, I showed people how to network like a pro — even if you hate meeting people and consider yourself an introvert. You can [take the next step here]().) Dream Job - Drew “I didn’t think I could network so easily.” See how Drew did it [here](). High income for a Rich Life today…and a Richer Life tomorrow You have to get intentional about this! You can’t just assume your annual raise or next promotion will get you what you want and deserve. That’s a mistake many people make. They start from the bottom up. For example, someone is a dog walker now…so they think the next logical step is to become a manager of dog walkers. Then they can finally buy that used Xbox they’ve always wanted! It’s better to start with a vision and see what it would take to reach that. For example, you want to take one international trip a year as part of your Rich Life. What does that cost? $3,000? Now, how much is that per month? Or per paycheck? All of a sudden, that lofty goal of taking a trip seems feasible. You have to get impatient with your income! The sooner you can start earning more, the more resources you will have to start living your Rich Life. Confidence in your job Do you walk into interviews knowing you’re the right person for the job? When you’re on the clock, do you know that you can handle anything that’s thrown your way? If so, you’re not always looking over your shoulder or listening to water cooler gossip about potential layoffs or restructuring. With this kind of stress off your shoulders, you can relax. And that goes a long way towards living a Rich Life. Hours that align with your Rich Life Your Rich Life doesn’t start at 5pm. And it’s not limited to weekends and your vacation days. The hours you spend at work should contribute to your Rich Life. The average person spends a third of their life at work. If you’re dreading every moment, it’s impossible to live your Rich Life. The people who are the happiest in their career spend their time using the skills they enjoy most, with people they love working with, and they usually do it on their own terms. It’s not a pipe dream. I have students who have landed these kinds of roles. Just check out what Rusty said. [Rusty Pixon] "My company has some insane benefits and very generous compensation...an unlimited vacation policy on top of the ability to work remotely from anywhere in the world. For example, a good friend of mine from college asked me when I was going to come down and visit him down in the Florida panhandle. The next week I had booked tickets for a 10-day trip to enjoy some golf and time spent on the beach all without skipping a beat at work. That flexibility has allowed me to take golf trips like that to Scottsdale and Palm Springs over the last few years — and even knock out one of my 'bucket list' trips to the Greek Islands last year." – Rusty Pixton Ramit working for his podcast My podcast allows me to work from anywhere AND get my message out. How to nail down these 4 career pillars I have an entire system that I’ve tweaked and refined over the last decade. It’s helped thousands of people find and land their dream jobs, get big raises, meet interesting people, and so much more. [Gaurav Kapoor] "I went through 2 jobs and multiple coffee and dinner meetings to finally nail the job I always wanted. I now make $380K in a year." – Gaurav Kapoor [Kurt Busche] "It helped me prepare for interviews and helped me get a $4,000 pay increase." – Kurt Busche [Monica Galvan] "During the height of the pandemic, I accepted a new job offer with a $50k salary increase as well as a handsome equity package." – Monica Galvan Today the doors are open for you to join people like Gaurav, Kurt, and Monica. [Find your dream job]() You can get access to the same techniques and strategies they had. You’ll discover how to: - Figure out what your dream job actually is, and your dream companies - Find, authentically connect with, and get advice from insiders at your dream companies - Build a Rolodex of VIPs who can help you grow your career — no sleazy networking involved - Ask for a raise and make an irresistible case…without being seen as adversarial - Engineer a bidding war between multiple companies and rapidly increase your compensation - Get far more interesting and exciting projects at your existing company - Negotiate for not just more money, but also better benefits and cool perks like remote work and flexible schedules Your career can be amazing, if you’re intentional about it.
