One of my Money Dials is generosity. Since it’s the holidays, in this newsletter Can't view this email properly? [View in Browser]() [Podcast Newsletter Header Final.png]() {NAME}, One of my Money Dials is generosity. Since it’s the holidays, in this newsletter I’m sharing: - How I find unique gift ideas - How to automatically save for giving amazing gifts - 7 gift ideas for 2023 Check it out below. --------------------------------------------------------------- My secret weapon for managing 1,000’s of emails per day Superhuman This newsletter is sponsored by Superhuman, a service I use to manage my inbox lightning fast—without ever moving my hands off my keyboard. IWT readers [get a free month of Superhuman](). --------------------------------------------------------------- How I automatically save for giving gifts At the beginning of each year, I decide how much I want to allocate to gifting for the year. For easy math, let’s say it’s $5,000, or $417 per month (5,000/12). I have a savings line item for “gifts” [Conscious Spending Plan]() and a sub-savings account for “gifts”. Each month, I automatically send $417 to my “Gifts” sub savings account. More on automatic savings in Chapters 4 & 5 [in my book](). Oh yeah, my book is also a great gift. Categories of spending Imagine not stressing at the end of year “How much should I spend? The holidays are so expensive!” This should have been planned for months ago—you already know the holidays are coming and with a few minutes of work, you can decide how much you want to set aside each month. When you get to holiday time, you’re calm and collected. How I find unique gift ideas I keep a list of people who I might want to send a gift to. My assistant has a list of people I want to give gifts to and important dates (e.g. birthdays, anniversaries, holiday gifts, etc.). I’ll also email her when I want to give a gift (e.g. a host gift to a dinner I was invited to). Whenever I see a cool gift idea for someone in my life, I save it to my bookmarks. For example, I know someone who loves tea, [so I saved this great tea for them](). Another loves chocolate ([chocolate gift]()). Sometimes I save something without knowing who I’ll gift it to. I read this [WSJ article]() about a guy who said: “This summer I went to: Chenot Palace Weggis in Switzerland. They have a method of getting rid of your old cells and stimulating new cells. It was life-changing, honestly.” I have no idea what this is, and it sounds very expensive, but also amazing, so I saved it. Maybe one day I’ll gift it to someone who loves skincare. Maybe not. Regardless, I have it saved now. When it’s time to give a gift, my assistant and I pull up all my gift tags in my bookmarks: Gift list Then she gives me 3 options, I pick one, and the gift is sent! Here are 7 cool gift ideas for this year - Preserve your family history by getting your parents’ memories down in writing ([WSJ article]()) - [Charcoal candle]() - [Amazing, beautiful food gift boxes from Lady & Larder]() - [Tech bags from Bellroy]() - Masterclass subscription (sponsor). Give one annual membership and [get one free](). - [Italian meats & cheese boxes from Di Bruno Bros]() - Trade coffee subscription (sponsor). [Get 15% off]() gift subscriptions through Dec 25th. Let me know what gifts you’re loving this year! [Signature] P.S. Shocking twist on the podcast: “She has $7k in cc debt—just 3 months after I paid it off for her” (Part 1) Not even I was even expecting the turn my conversation with Becky and Dustin took!
