Isn’t it funny how money automatically triggers stress in some people? Can't view this email properly? [View in Browser]() {NAME}, Isn’t it funny how money automatically triggers stress in some people? That stress doesn’t go away after you reach a certain salary. Or hit a high net worth. In fact, this past summer on my podcast, I talked to a young couple who felt stressed paying for a $15 gym membership. But they had a net worth of $1.25 million! (Watch [episode 104 here]().) [Podcast episode]() Me judging you when you don’t have a system. Another couple who was on my podcast had paid off all their debt. And they were doing really well, financially. But they still felt guilty about spending. ([Watch episode 94 here]().) This is why money systems are crucial. They make it possible to live what I call your “Rich Life”—an ideal version of your life, one where your personal relationships, finances, and day-to-day activities are exactly as you want them to be. With an established money system, you can dedicate a portion of your income to guilt-free spending. (Truly guilt-free. Because you know your system has everything else covered, like fixed costs, savings, and investing.) In my New York Times bestselling book, I wrote about someone named Lisa… …who spends $5,000 a year on shoes. Shoes! But Lisa earns a six-figure salary. And she has a roommate, eats for free at work, and doesn’t spend money on fancy tech gadgets, a gym membership, or going out to eat. Stressed out convo Eliminate money stress with a system. Plus, Lisa maxes out her retirement accounts. And she stashes away money for her savings goals each month. So, yes, Lisa feels no stress about spending $5,000 a year on shoes. She loves them. That’s why she built her money system around them. Ramit in his Honda Accord I drive an 18-year old Honda Accord, but wear $1,000 cashmere sweaters. YOU define your Rich Life. “Trying harder” to budget never works Whenever I talk about the ease and simplicity of systems, there’s always a curmudgeon or two who will say: “Yeah, yeah, whatever! If I just try harder and stick to a budget, I’ll start saving more, pay off my debt, stop unnecessary spending, and start investing…” Then what happens? It all goes well for a few weeks, maybe a few months. But then something happens—an emergency car repair, or a Target run that got out of hand—derailing all those good intentions. Not to mention, the time spent trying harder was stressful! A system accounts for these slip-ups. Concept of "stupid mistakes" sub savings account Smart systems keep us free from worry and stress. What does your Rich Life look like? Do you want to travel for 4 weeks a year? Spend MORE going out to eat? Take your family to theme parks? Go on shopping sprees for stuff you love? I can’t answer this question. YOU decide what your Rich Life is. But I know for a fact that stress is not part of it. That’s why I’d like to help you build a bulletproof personal finance system. So that you can eliminate stress for good and finally live your Rich Life. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
