When was the last time you had a positive, awesome conversation with your Can't view this email properly? [View in Browser]() [Podcast Newsletter Header Final.png]() {NAME}, When was the last time you had a positive, awesome conversation with your partner about money? Too often, couples tell me they only talk about money when they’re discussing logistics like which account they should use. Or worse, they only talk about money when something goes wrong. I believe money is a JOY to talk about. Money lets me be more adventurous, spontaneous, and generous. So how do you talk about money? Let me show you a sample agenda that you can use to get started (excerpted from my [Money Coaching program]()): What to talk about on a Money Date Celebrate! (5 min) - Start by exploring one fun, positive question. Some favorites to get you going: - What's one thing you loved about the past month? - What's one thing you admire about yourself (or your partner)? - What have you realized about your Rich Life? Review last month (5 min) - How did last month go? What did you like/not like? - How did you live your Rich Life? Any changes you'd like to make? (5 min) - Anything you'd like to do MORE of to boost your Rich Life? - Anything you'd like to do LESS to boost your Rich Life? - What should you keep doing to maintain your Rich Life progress? Plan next month (10 min) - How do you want to live your Rich Life over the next 30 days? GET SPECIFIC! - What can you do NOW to help make these plans happen? (e.g., schedule date nights, buy tickets, message the babysitter, book an Airbnb, carve out time for your #1 goal on your calendar, etc.) - What will make the next month special? Look at the upcoming 6-12 months (5 min) - Are your automated savings for your larger Rich Life Goals still on track? - Are there any adjustments you'd like to make to your Rich Life Goals or savings? - What are you excited about? Open items (5 min) - Are there any open items or unresolved issues you need to resolve? Next month's review (5 min) - What did you like about this conversation? - What do you want to change about this for next time? Things to notice - This is a very quick meeting. Typically, my own monthly meeting takes 60-90 minutes, but I want to show you how you can start small and easy - The most important part is the first step: CELEBRATE. Too many of us jump right into numbers without setting any context. Some of us jump right into problems! No!! Start with positivity. It changes everything. - For the people who think it’s weird to have an agenda with your intimate partner...too bad! Agendas help you stay focused. Too many couples spin around and around for 30 years by not making decisions about money. I don’t mind if something is weird, I just care that it works. - Eventually, you’ll want to know your numbers from the CSP. You’ll want to each have some responsibility and skin in the game. And you’ll want to assign ownership to specific areas of your joint finances.
