On Monday, we talked about why good teachers are important. But it’s equally Can't view this email properly? [View in Browser]() {NAME}, On Monday, we talked about why good teachers are important. But it’s equally important to be a good student. A good student—someone who’s ready to do the work—can get great results! In my Netflix show, “[How to Get Rich](),” I help people who are ready to put in the effort it takes to change their situations. You can also watch me do this [on my podcast](), where couples are sometimes on the edge of disaster because of their financial situations. Take Ana and Gabriel, who were [recent guests on my podcast](). [Podcast episode]() [Check out the episode here]() Ana and Gabriel have been married for nearly a decade. They’ve got three children and live in a studio-like setup with Gabriel’s parents—and Ana yearns for a larger living space. But the couple has had to weather some financial challenges. Ana used to juggle school with a part-time job, and when they needed help with money, Gabriel’s parents stepped in. But what made things tough was Gabriel used to struggle with addiction and impulsive purchases, like buying an ATV and a BMW X3 2019. Now, Gabriel’s been sober for three years. Referring to himself as “Gabriel 2.0,” he’s eager to reshape their financial future. “I did the math,” Gabriel told me, “and it was around, I would say, $30,000 that I wasted. It was drugs and alcohol.” When I talk to guests, I think about the character traits and level of preparedness they show. And Gabriel genuinely impressed me: He took initiative to seek help. He retrospectively calculated how much his addiction cost him. And he was open about his impulsiveness. Given a choice, I’d rather work with someone carrying $50,000 in credit card debt with Gabriel’s mindset… …over someone who earns $250,000, but resists change. It’s hard to change. Especially when it involves finances. Many people feel a mix of shame, embarrassment, and despair when confronting their money habits. It’s easier not to think about money at all. But where does that get you? Instead, you could use the passing time to help yourself feel good about money again. Still looking for crumpled bills in your pockets? Early in the [Money Coaching program](), you’ll learn the Rich Life System. This system dives into your “Money Psychology,” or how you THINK and FEEL about money. Which is critical. Because once you address your feelings surrounding money, you can learn to make positive changes that last. The Rich Life System Making money isn’t about organizing numbers on an Excel sheet. Nor is it about that crumpled $20 bill in your jeans pocket… …or the balance you obsessively check on your banking app. When we discuss personal finance in [Money Coaching](), we share more than just tools and tactics. Sure, those are important! And you’ll get all that. But making money is largely about your mindset. In [Money Coaching](), you’ll benefit from thought-provoking exercises, live check-ins, and a community of like-minded people.
