To view this email as a web page, [click here]() {NAME}, This week, we’re talking about what it would be like to have a Dream Job. A job that lets you control where, when, and how you work. Work from a coffee shop for the morning. Take the afternoon off to spend with your family. Or even take a 3-day weekend — every week. Imagine you had an extra day off EVERY week. How would you spend it? Here are some ideas: - Go on a last-minute adventure — like exploring a new place, hiking, or hitting the beach. - Prioritize self-care — relax and recharge at the spa, do yoga, and read a good book to rejuvenate yourself. - Take up a new hobby — spend the day painting, writing, learning a new language, or making music. - Enjoy quality time with your family — picnics and board games to movie marathons and baking. - Use the day to volunteer — support a cause you care about and make a difference in your community. - Get stuff done — dedicate the day to tackling home projects you've been putting off. This is exactly what we did at IWT — every week, all summer. [Some of the IWT team with their families] Some of the IWT team with their families, enjoying an extra day off. IWT and the 4DWW Our company tested out a 4-day workweek. ([You can read all about it here]().) Studies on compressed workweeks have shown positive results on employee stress levels, productivity, and work-life balance. In [a February 2023 report]() by 4 Day Week Global, 92% of companies trying a 4-day workweek decided to continue, reporting less burnout and turnover and improved social lives and even company revenue. IWT wanted to test drive this for ourselves. Aside from the data, a compressed workweek is in line with our company values of being constant learners, working better as a team, and coming to the table with solutions. How did it work out? Overall, our projects and deadlines were still being met, and we were feeling rested, relaxed, and in control of our work. It helped us learn how to better communicate with — and depend on — each other. And it helped us problem-solve quickly. “I got more done in less time,” an IWT employee reported. “The shorter workweek has helped me get the priority items done first. It seems to me that the team is now more critical of what's important and what's not, which lets me have more time for the longer term, more important projects.” In fact, the 4DWW has had such a positive impact that we have voted to extend it until the end of the year. We would not be able to do this without a strong team, intentional management, and a willingness to test and learn, built right into our company culture. And here’s the truth, we’re not the only company doing this! There are thousands of other companies who are constantly working to make their employees' lives better. I’ll be talking more this week about how to find jobs at companies like these. Your ideal workweek What is your ideal workweek? Would you take Fridays off to get started on a long weekend? Mondays off to transition into the week? Or would you work over 5 days with more flexibility with your hours? Hit reply and let me know! And stay tuned for more this week about how to make your workweek — and your job — align with your Rich Life. [Signature] You may be new to IWT.
