Not because they've interrupted countless dinners with friends and family since To view this email as a web page, [click here]() Important: Earnable Live closes for enrollment tomorrow at 11:59 pm Pacific. If you’re ready to make this the year you finally start your business, [we’re waiting for you here](). I love telemarketers, {NAME}. Not because they've interrupted countless dinners with friends and family since around the time the telephone was invented, but... I love telemarketers because they’re made of emotional Teflon. They deal with the absolute worst of humanity. They hear “No thanks” and “No” and a whoooole lot worse than that. Every shift. Every day. And they keep going. They learn to let the fury slide right off their backs. They focus on getting to “Yes.” This is the most important skill to develop as a business owner. Hearing “no” is a gift When you follow [the proven Earnable system]() to create your first offer or product, there comes a point when you just have to sell. With Earnable, that point comes sooner rather than later — because there’s no point spending a ton of time building if ultimately no one wants what you’ve built. Eventually, you have to go out into the world (or out on the internet) and try to get someone to pay for what you’ve created. You have to do sales calls and Zoom calls and send pitch emails. And when you do, you’re going to hear the word “no.” (You might not hear it a lot, because in the first part of Earnable, you’ll work on finding a profitable idea that people actually want to pay for. But you’ll definitely hear it more than once.) Hearing “no” is a gift. It builds your armor. It makes you indestructible. You start to realize it’s not “No to you as a person, because you’re terrible, {NAME}”. It’s “No to this offer, because it’s not right… yet.” That’s incredibly valuable information!! You could let your first “No” discourage you. You could quit. Or you could follow each “no” with a question: “Will you tell me why it’s a no for you?” When you ask this question, you learn more about who your customers are (and aren’t). You start to understand more about what they want (and don’t want). Once you get past the sting of rejection — and you will — each “no” is an opportunity to learn. [Earnable - Tiffany McLain.png] “No” makes you more resilient I know what “no” feels like. Long ago, when I sold my first ebook (which was $4.95), I was pretty sure a lot of people would say no. [Ramit's 2007 Guide to Kicking Ass] It was a long time ago, OK? And they did. They said meaner stuff, too. But I sold more than 1,000 copies. And in the process of doing that, I built my emotional armor. I didn’t take the “No” personally. Instead, I focused on serving those 1,000 people who trusted me with five bucks. (If you were one of them, thanks for sticking around!) That openness and perseverance is hands-down THE MOST valuable quality I’ve cultivated as an entrepreneur. It makes me a better business owner, because I know “No” doesn’t mean the end. It makes me a better [podcast host](), because I’ve trained myself to look for the why beyond the “No.” Even outside of my business, this resilience makes me a better person: more empathetic, slower to judge, and able to weather bad news. You could build this resilience too, with [Earnable](). Think like an entrepreneur Your work inside Earnable starts with the playbook “Think Like an Entrepreneur.” I’ll show you the principles I’ve learned over more than 15 years running multiple businesses.
