Whenever I make fun of morning routines and meditation, people will inevitably To view this email as a web page, [click here]() {NAME}, Whenever I make fun of morning routines and meditation, people will inevitably send me an article of some famous successful person who does it. [40 minutes of meditation] Really? REALLY?!?! Here’s the truth that I’ve learned over 20 years of studying psychology and behavior: Productivity chasers end up with the easiest solution. It might be an app, a special type of coffee, or a simple practice like meditation. Little work is required with any of these solutions and anyone can do it. Real productivity takes hard work Let’s unpack this Ray Dalio click-bait headline. Nowhere in the article does it mention that he also went to freaking Harvard Business School! What do you think had more impact on his success as a hedge fund manager? Building the skills to get admitted to, and attending, Harvard Business School? Or his meditation practice? Why don’t the “productivity hack” people try to emulate getting admitted to Harvard Business School, too? Answer: Because it takes hard work and not everybody can do it. But here’s another thing I learned: Skills are just the beginning. After a certain baseline, your psychology becomes more and more important. And people at the very highest levels have it mastered. [Magazine with Warren Buffet and Ramit] As I became more advanced, mastering my psychology became even more important I’ve studied winners for years. Why do they succeed while other people — even people with “more talent” — get stuck? I started emailing back and forth with thousands and thousands of people. I asked my super-successful friends how they made it — painstaking details about how they built successful businesses, navigated tough career moves, handled bad bosses (and learned from good ones), and basically navigated the game of life. Over time, it became clear that winners have something in common: a set of deep inner skills that give them their edge. I call it “Mental Mastery.” It’s a set of powerful skills you can learn today that go beyond random productivity hacks. During my research, I collected the very best tools and frameworks — and also specific stories that illustrate them — and put them all together in my Mental Mastery program. [Mental Mastery] Mental Mastery gives you the exact tools you need in order to practice what you value. It could be finally writing a book, it could be asking for a promotion at work, or even having your best finish in a 4K race. Whatever it is, Mental Mastery can help. Even one of these lessons can be worth its weight in gold. Put them together and you have a microscope to examine your own inner thoughts … and a roadmap for optimizing, improving, and skipping ahead. There’s nothing else like it. I spent years searching for, testing, and refining the deep inner skills I teach in Mental Mastery. I’m excited to share them with you. When you’re done with Mental Mastery, you’ll have: [Mental Mastery] I hope you join the thousands of students who have learned key frameworks and skills that are helping them build their Rich Life.
