One of the biggest fallacies that beginning entrepreneurs have is the “It’s To view this email as a web page, [click here]() {NAME}, One of the biggest fallacies that beginning entrepreneurs have is the “It’s already been done” fallacy. How can you start a business focused on fitness, marketing, diet, travel, fashion, or anything else when there's already so many businesses and books and experts focused on those topics already? Faced with this question, many aspiring business owners throw up their hands and quit. Don't make this mistake! This fallacy is easy to disprove. Just go to the bookstore. How many books are focused on the same topic as your business idea? Probably a lot! [Image of books] But if you take a closer look you'll see that 90% of what they're all saying is the same thing. So, what can we learn here? First, what was true for humans 1,000 years ago will be true 1,000 years from now: - People worried about finding a mate 1,000 years ago. And they'll still be worrying about this 1,000 years from now. - People wanted to know how to be more financially secure 1,000 years ago. That's not going to change going forward. Yes, the markets and technologies have changed, but those desires remain the same. If you focus your idea on a PRIMARY desire, your business doesn’t have to be first to win. I'm a very strong example of that. When I started, there were plenty of people writing about money. Second, how you approach your idea is more important than the idea itself. Let's use me as an example again. There were lots of people writing about money, but I targeted a different market (younger audiences) and approached it in a different way (a no-BS take packed with psychology). And it worked! There are other money experts who focus on women, retirees, investors, real estate, crypto, savings, debt, and lots more. In fact there are lots of experts in each of these areas. You don't have to be original to succeed. Nor do you have to be first. AltaVista was there before Google. MySpace was there before Facebook. The USPS was there a long time before UPS and FedEx. Why did those companies succeed? Better product, better marketing, better execution, better timing. In many cases, the most important factor is simply understanding your niche better than others. You can do that, too. If someone has a business that's similar to yours, this is actually a good sign that there's a market for your business. Bottom line, don't let the "it's already been done" fallacy keep you from starting your business. [Signature] P.S.
