here's a question for you: What should a vacation look like? To view this email as a web page, [click here]() {NAME}, here's a question for you: What should a vacation look like? There's no one right answer to this question. - When I was a kid, vacation meant piling into the family car with sack lunches and road tripping to a relative's house. My parents, three siblings, and I would crowd into one hotel room to save money. - For many people, vacation means flying to some crowded tourist destination and cramming in as much sightseeing as possible. Then getting home so tired you feel like you need a vacation from your vacation before going back to work. - Other people are too overworked to even go on vacation — even if it was just taking time off to relax and explore their local area. What do your vacations look like? And better yet, what do you WISH your vacations were like? When I started my business, one of my big goals was to be able to take a fancy vacation and invite my friends and family along. They would be big extravaganzas full of amazing food and time to just hang out together. That's exactly what I did when I turned 40. [Ramit family and friends] Another vacation goal of mine: to be able to just slow down and R-E-L-A-X. Some of my favorite trips are built around minimal obligations, whole days with nothing scheduled, the flexibility to change plans on a whim. And most important of all, no inbox or work messages nagging you the whole time. On a recent 6-week trip my wife and I took to India and Japan, I told my team I was intentionally NOT bringing my computer (iPad only, mostly for reading) and that I would only be available one hour a week — and only by email. The rest of that time, I was unavailable and essentially off the grid. [Ramit] It was amazing. And I couldn't have done it without having a business that can run on autopilot. Get serious about what you want! The best vacation is the one that YOU design around YOUR interests. That could be: - Flying to NYC to see your favorite band — backstage passes included - Going on a food tour of Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe - Or hiring a driver and bringing your family on a street food tour of your town - Getting private tours of amazing museums - Going on a three-week yoga retreat - Surprising your spouse with a weekend getaway - Just renting a beach house for a month and inviting friends and family to come for a visit The possibilities are endless…assuming you have the time, flexibility, and money to say YES to what you dream up. I love my business. I love being able to help hundreds of thousands of people everyday and make an impact in their lives. Receiving success story emails from readers and students is still the best part of my day. But I also love that my business gives me the freedom to step away from it from time to time. I can build all areas of my Rich Life, not just my work. I couldn't do that without my business. Question for you: If you had a business that let you design your dream vacation, what would you do? Where would you go? Who would you bring with you? Reply to this email and let me know. [Signature] P.S.
