The very first product I ever sold was a $4.95 e-book. To view this email as a web page, [click here]() {NAME}, The very first product I ever sold was a $4.95 e-book. This one: [Ramit's 2007 Guide to Kicking Ass] I was so nervous when I first started selling it. What if they hate it? Or worse, what if no one even buys it? So imagine my immense relief when that first $4.95 sale came in. Oh my god, someone’s actually reading this! Yes, it was only $4.46 after processing fees, but who’s counting? That didn’t matter to me. What mattered was somebody pulled out their credit card and paid over the internet for something I had written. Side note: Seeing Earnable Live students make their first sale is one of my favorite things… [Earnable Live Student First Sales] [Earnable Live Student First Sales] [Earnable Live Student First Sales] I love it! Back to my story… A couple days after I launched my first product, I was out with friends and more sales were coming in. I got about three, if I recall correctly, over the course of dinner. Money just pouring in automatically while I was away from my computer. That’s when I started to understand just how big this could be. Fast-forward to my business now. For my 40th birthday, I organized a long vacation in Mexico with friends. When the trip came, I unplugged and had an amazing time. But my business kept running. [Automated sales] Even after 15+ years, it's still amazing to see that I can earn money when I'm away from my computer, with friends, having fun — even sleeping! My business kept running, and my income kept flowing, thanks to automatic systems. [Earnable Live shows you how to build these systems for yourself](). You don't even need a complicated business like IWT today to enjoy automated income. My site started off really simple, really small. Everyone starts small. And you can stay there, enjoying a steady second income stream, or you can scale up and become one of our Earnable students making multiple six-figures (or more). The road to a $1 million business One of the key lessons I've learned in starting and growing IWT is that business isn’t magic. It’s just math. Here's what it takes to generate a million dollars over five years. And I say five years because I’m being conservative. Say you have three products at three different price points: - One is $50 - One is $500 - And then you have a high-end product at $2,000. Forget about what the actual products are. It doesn’t matter for this thought experiment. Let’s just focus on the numbers. If you sell three units of the $50 product every day, or 90 per month, you make $270,000 over five years. Here's the math: $50 product x 90 sales/month x 12 months x 5 years = $270,000 That sounds pretty good to me! It’s a lower price point. So in general, you’re going to have more people buying it. Next, if you get one sale of the $500 product every other day, or 15 per month, that’s $450,000. $500 product x 15 sales/month x 12 months x 5 years = $450,000 Notice that with the higher price we sell fewer units, but we can see more revenue. Finally, if you sell just three units of the $2,000 product every month, you still make $360,000 over five years. Here's that math: $2,000 product x 3 sales/month x 12 months x 5 years = $360,000 Now imagine that you’re selling all three of these products. What does your total revenue come out to? $270,000 + $450,000 + $360,000 = $1,080,000 $1,080,000 over five years! This is how 6-figure and 7-figure businesses are built. You start with one product. You learn a lot and dial in on what the market likes and wants. Then you build another product. Maybe three, four, five, who knows how many products you want to build. But just imagine what that does for your income and your life. What would an extra $10,000 a month do for you? Even an extra $1,000 a month, on autopilot, can be life-changing. How would you spend an extra grand each month? - Use it for guilt-free fun money — a monthly shopping spree? - Take an extra 2-4 vacations with your family each year? - Pay off your student loans as fast as possible? - Give to charities that you care about? - Splurge on your family and friends, "just because"? Now I know, when you’re starting out these numbers might seem crazy, but every successful person started somewhere. And slowly, [with the right mindsets and systems](), they gradually grew. You can build a business that pays you, automatically, to live the life you want. The question isn't IF you can do it, too. You can. It's just math. There's a system. The question is WILL you do it?
