Today, I invite you to take the next 3 minutes to step out of the day-to-day To view this email as a web page, [click here]() {NAME}, Today, I invite you to take the next 3 minutes to step out of the day-to-day grind and look at your job from a bird's-eye view. Resist the urge to fixate on that tiny annoyance at work. I don’t care if it’s the rambling co-worker or the micromanager boss. Think bigger. Try to answer these questions: - When you started working, what did you envision? Does your office look like the one you dreamed about? Does your salary? What about the work you do day-to-day? - When you think about your friends’ and coworkers’ jobs, do you see smart, talented, ambitious people who start out ambitious ... and then stall out? - When you ask your friends how work is, do they shrug and say, "Meh ... it’s a job," or do they get excited and talk about the latest cool, new project they're working on? And most important of all: If you think about the future, are you excited? Or are you ... numb? These are difficult and uncomfortable questions. I know how hard it can be to take a hard look at our own lives and admit that it’s not what we dreamed about. We work hard, try to speak up and get ahead ... but it's like we're running uphill. [Meme] We want to make an impact. We want to make more, learn more, and do meaningful work. And we want the rewards, too. We want to earn enough to live a Rich Life, one where we’re not constantly stressed about every single thing we buy. I want to be able to take a weekend getaway. I want to be able to pick up the tab for the people I love. And sometimes, I want to buy something nice for myself just because. And most people are actually willing to work hard to get this! How did you start out? In the first few years, if you're ambitious and smart — and with a little luck — you'll probably be able to achieve some level of success. A promotion or two. A raise. You start to be able to do small things for yourself. You splurge for the guac at Chipotle. But by the time you reach your 30s, you can start to see people’s career paths diverge: some people keep rising, and some stop. Some people settle. “No, I didn’t really want to do this ... and I don’t love the lifestyle ... but it's a job, right?” Some people hit the “Chipotle level” and stay there for the rest of their lives. They can do something nice once in a while — but that’s about it. They’re stuck in the middle. And isn’t Chipotle fine, anyway? Most of us have pretty good lives. We can watch HBO Max, we can get food delivered via Postmates, and we can see our friends. But I want options. To do more, travel more, experience new things. To live a life of adventure, not to limit myself to guacamole. Change the trajectory of your daily life [Meme] There is an alternative, but it's uncertain. lt's DIFFERENT than anything else the people around you have done. And because it’s different, it’s scary. As a CEO, I've reviewed thousands of applicants, and I'm shocked by all the career mistakes most people make — and never even realize it. I know what you’re thinking. You think the opposite of settling is working 80 hours a week, not being home for dinner, GO GO GO all the time, and burnout. It's not. Intuitively, you and I already know that if we want to enjoy a different life tomorrow, we need to make different choices today. If you don’t do something different now, it only gets harder as time goes on. Would you be willing to make a change now if it meant you could find a Dream Job? I have a system that works ... - Even if you don’t know what your Dream Job is yet (or if it even exists) - Even if you don’t want to spend 60 hours/week at work - Even if you don’t have the “right” experience on paper - And especially if you don’t feel respected at work ... your boss doesn’t listen when you talk ... you feel worried about the future, and worst of all, you feel STUCK and HELPLESS to do something about it I’m going to tell you about it next week. But on Monday, I’m giving you a sneak peek of the exact system Top Talent uses to find and land the best jobs...often before they're even made public.
