What Rich Life experience could you have for $1,000? To view this email as a web page, [click here]() “COVID pushed us to get more creative” What Rich Life experience could you have for $1,000? For IWT reader Basil, it meant a re-envisioned vacation: “Our 10-year anniversary was in 2020. We looked at traveling from our home in Southern California for a little anniversary getaway. COVID smashed those plans and pushed us to get more creative. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on flights, hotels, dinners, etc., we drove an hour to a five-star resort in San Diego (one of the nicest in the country) for a midweek couples spa day and lunch. It cost us less than a grand. On the drive home I was saying to my wife that there are sooo many people who could afford to spend $1,000 on themselves for a treat now and then. How many of them know they could get a day enjoying the finest luxury in America? You would spend more for a stressful day at Disneyland. She laughed at me when I noted that you could do this EVERY WEEK for the cost of some local private elementary schools versus the 10/10 public school in our neighborhood. ‘You're the only person I've ever known who runs numbers on apples and oranges like that,’ she said. What a compliment! It sounds pretty posh to be talking about private schools and luxury resorts but the point is to emphasize the range of choices that are available. I challenge anyone to dream up something that would seem really special, then actually do the work to put a number on what it would cost. Then take that number and compare it to all sorts of financial numbers they are familiar with in their lives (both income AND expenses). It is eye-opening. It's a superpower.” [Basil and wife] Time for you to get creative. What’s a life-changing experience you could have for $1,000 within an hour of where you live? Focus on building freedom, not just money At a certain point, another $1,000 doesn’t mean much. In fact, I know plenty of people who save a lot, planning to use it when they retire... ...but when they turn 60, they lack the skills of knowing what they actually like. They spent 40 years saving, but they don’t know how to spend. So today, I want to share a different perspective on money: freedom. And I don't mean freedom in some generic sense. I mean the 5 specific levels of freedom on the Ladder of Freedom. I walk through each level in this post, one of my favorite pieces: “[The Ladder of Freedom]().” If you haven't read it, I recommend you check it out. Then, an assignment: How would you spend that $1,000 at each level of freedom? An extra $1k per month? Running my own business gives me the freedom to say "YES!" to the things I love (and a guilt-free "no" to the things I don't). I didn’t start there, though. My first sale was for less than $5. [My first sale!] It's a magical feeling when you make your first sale online. Here are some real numbers so you can see how much you could make. From Earnable student Martin Bentsen: “I've gone through the first three playbooks by now and bought the course three days ago. Guess what? I already have two sales and made $40.… I've literally been feeling like crap for a while, thinking my online business idea would never work, and suddenly I feel supercharged...I'm fully confident I'll make back 100X the investment within a couple years.” –Martin Bentsen, City Headshots [Martin Bentsen] $40 isn’t much — but if you can make $40, you can make $400. And if you can make $400, you can make $40,000 … and on and on. (Martin has made multiple 6 figures using our other programs.) But the power of an online business is taking one sale, even a small one, and repeating it over and over again — automatically. Let's use Martin’s $40 product. If he makes 2 sales per month, he’d earn just under $1,000 over the course of a year. One $40 product x 2 sales a month = extra $960 a year Now let's see how fast this can scale up. What if you keep that single $40 product but make 25 sales a month? One $40 product x 25 sales a month = extra $12,000 a year That’s $1k per month! You can start to see how adding multiple products and other levers makes your income start to scale rapidly. To prove it, we created a simple calculator to break down the math. [How much can you earn with Earnable]() [Click here to try the calculator]() (scroll halfway down the page) There are a dozen ways to use a business to make anything from $500 to $1M+ per year. Try the calculator and see for yourself. It’s about halfway down [this page](). Now, here’s the question: What could you do with an extra $1k per month? How long have you wanted to start a business? When I asked readers, over half of them told me they’ve been thinking about starting a business for years. [How long have you wanted to start a business?] YEARS! We want the freedom of an online business … we spend the time and mental energy thinking about it for years … and yet we get nowhere.
