India is very dear to me. It’s where my parents emigrated from, and it’s where I To view this email as a web page, [click here]() [IWT Header] {NAME}, India is very dear to me. It’s where my parents emigrated from, and it’s where I went with my parents to visit when I was a kid. I wanted to make sure that Cass and I traveled there on our honeymoon. The peak of the COVID-19 situation there was horrifying. There were so many deaths that they ran out of wood for funeral pyres. I had family members in India who had COVID. So on my Instagram account, I decided I’d match up to $5,001 to [@Khalsa_Aid]() to supply oxygen and wood to people in need. I was immediately flooded with donations, so I raised the match to $10,001. Within a few hours, I had thousands of likes on the post and we had raised more than $40,000. [IN 24 hours, we raise $40,000 to help coronavirus victims in India]() I posted again a couple days later and we had raised more than $60,000. We had donations from $10 to $1,000. Having an engaged audience can let you do more than just build your business. You may have noticed me using my platform to be more vocal about fundraising and politics lately. It’s part of my Rich Life, and I believe there are people who want to know what’s happening around the world and want to help. For example, here’s a post I wrote during the summer of 2020: This blog isn’t just about money or business. It’s about choosing what’s important to us. And it’s about speaking up when we see something wrong. George Floyd’s murder is not an isolated crime. It is the latest example of systemic and structural oppression in this country, weaponized to take one man’s life. I used to stay quiet about politics publicly. But over the last few years, I started speaking up. Money is political. Jobs are political. Pandemics are political. And being black is political. I have much more to learn about race and politics. I’m listening. I believe in dialogue, but dialogue is not enough — we need structural change. I believe in accountability for police brutality. I believe in a diverse community and country. I believe in voting racists out of office. I believe in acknowledging and fighting the real, systemic barriers that hold us back. And I believe #BlackLivesMatter. You have a voice. Whether you use it to post publicly, to donate, or to VOTE, please let your voice be heard. There’s a reason “influencer” is the word chosen for people who can post themselves wearing a random brand’s T-shirt and having it instantly sell out. When you have an audience, you have an amazing power. Think of your audience (or, if you don’t have one, your future audience). What would you love to ask them to help you with? Reply and let me know. [Signature] P.S. The match to Khalsa Aid is now over, but I’d love it if you donated.
