[View in browser]( Weekly Newsletter #2022.12 [(Hi , This week sees the beta releases of two big names. Beta versions of [Fedora 36]( and [Ubuntu 22.04]( are out now. The stable releases for both will be coming in the second half of April. If you are feeling experimental and cannot wait for the stable release or if you want to test it before others, you can upgrade to the beta versions. I have included instructions for both [Ubuntu]( and [Fedora beta]( upgrades. There is another 'big' release this week. [Deepin version 20.5 is available now]( and this new release comes with face unlock feature. It's not impossible to [add face unlock feature in other distributions]( but it is good to have it as an in-built feature. One more release and this one is not a Linux distribution :) [Mozilla Thunderbird version 102]( is also released this week and it comes with new Spaces toolbar, Matrix protocol support among other things. Application highlight of this week is [Metadata Cleaner]( and as the name suggests, it gets rid of the metadata. In other things, you can read this [list of systemd-free distributions]( and add your views on it. In essential Linux learning, you can learn about syslogs and [kill and killall commands](. I'll end this newsletter by introducing an [open source Google Drive alternative for self-hosting fans](. I let you read the articles now. Enjoy the Friday :) Your support matters [Donate here]( DRM-free eBooks from Humble Bundle The Joy of Coding Book Bundle Seeking certification in your field to help advance your career?
