[Click to view in browser](. Nov 16th 2020 Dear InvestingChannel Reader, You probably heard that Elon Musk thinks he has a case of COVID-19 and U.K.'s Boris Johnson is in self-quarantine (again) after coming into contact with an infected person. But did you know that 65 members of the World Health Organization are down with the disease as well? Wait. Members of WHO are the world's foremost health-care experts, right? Their stated objective is "the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health." Yet these people seem to be spreading COVID faster than a White House election party. As the spread of COVID-19 continues to accelerate, from North America to the [emerging markets]( of Asia, we still seem to have more questions than answers about the virus. Ten months in, we don't even really know how the bug is transmitted from one person to another. According to Jay Varma, senior adviser for public health in the New York City mayor’s office, "Somewhere probably around 50% or more [of COVID cases in NYC], we don’t have a way to directly attribute their source of infection." In Germany, that number is 75% and, in Austria, 77%, according to The Wall Street Journal. So, as markets cheer the latest developments on the vaccine front, pushing the S&P 500 to new highs, cautious investors are likely still focused on the uncertainties—regarding COVID and its impact on the economy—rather than jumping in headfirst for fear of missing out on the next leg up in the S&P.
