[Click to view in browser](. Dear Reader, Equity markets shrugged off the latest wave of COVID-19 cases around the world and rallied across the board Monday. Improving economic numbers in [China]( helped lift Asia's markets (and S&P 500 futures) overnight. Specifically, the data showed (for October) gains in [China]( retail sales, industrial production, and employment: - Retail sales increased by 4.3% year-over-year (vs. economist estimates of 4.9%) - Industrial production rose 6.9% year-over-year (vs. 6.5% expected) - Fixed asset investment increased by 1.8% from last year (vs. 1.6% expected) - The unemployment rate dipped to 5.3% from 5.4% (in-line with expectations) Europe's equity markets followed suit and rallied between 1% and 3%, with Spain's IBEX leading the way with a 3.1% surge. While the S&P 500 gained .8% at the opening bell this morning, Tuesday will be more telling as the market will digest a host of data, including retail sales, import/export prices, industrial production, business inventories, and the latest reading from the NAHB Housing Index.
