[Become an IL Affiliate!]( Inventory Placement Service Fees There have been some recent changes to Amazon’s [2024 FBA inbound placement service fee](. According to Amazon, these fees aim to improve product delivery efficiency and reduce costs. When creating a shipping plan, sellers can now choose from different inventory inbound placement options within their Seller Central Account: - Minimal shipment splits: Send your inventory to the minimal number of inbound locations, generally to a single location, and Amazon will spread inventory across their network on your behalf, for a fee. The fee may vary by inbound location. - Partial or Amazon-optimized shipment splits: Send your inventory to multiple inbound locations yourself for a reduced or no fee. The reduced fees will depend on the number of shipments and inbound locations that you send your inventory to. Availability of these options depends on factors such as product type, quantities, existing inventory, and customer demand. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't give InventoryLab a breakdown of extra placement fees via their API. To help with this, we've launched the [Estimated Placement Fees Calculator]( allowing you to see the estimated fees as you list! InventoryLab University Introducing InventoryLab University! Why not IL? The shipment split workaround that other softwares are allowing is not compliant with Amazon's terms of service. When your shipment splits, Amazon requires all shipments to be created. Allowing proposed shipments in a plan to expire goes against Amazon's policy, which can result in your account to be negatively impacted. For this reason, IL will not enforce this workaround to protect your account standing and our relationship with Amazon. Users of these other 3rd party apps can expect to receive emails from Amazon regarding this breach of policy, stating “Any shipment that you ignore, delete, or abandon will generate abandoned shipment defects, which are subject to inbound defect fees.” Once this fee hits, sellers may also receive an inbound performance defect which can limit the ability to send in FBA shipments. 😵‍💫 ❓ Can I change my Inventory Placement selection in InventoryLab? You can only select/change the Inventory Placement option within your Seller Central account. ❓ How is the FBA inbound placement service fee calculated? This fee is based on product size tier, shipping weight, and inbound locations, as well as the tier for the number of locations or number of shipments in your shipping plan. ❓ Where can I see these fees in InventoryLab? According to Amazon, these fees will not be assessed until 45 days after the shipment is received.  They will then be sent to IL via your Settlement Report and reflected on your Profit & Loss Report.
